But 23-year-old Maxwell, dubbed the x-factor by Australia coach Mickey Arthur, has taken 1-53 with his offspinners and scored eight runs in two hits.
A highly regarded fieldsman, Maxwell dropped Nasir Jamshed at first slip on a duck on Tuesday night, then watched the left-hander score a match-winning 55.

Sril Lanka named Akila Dananjaya for ICC World T-20 squad

The 15-man squad includes two uncapped players: batsman Dilshan Munaweera, who plays for Uva Next in the SLPL and offspinner Akila Dananjaya, who represents Wayamba United and has picked up seven wickets in four SLPL games thus far. Munaweera was not part of Sri Lanka's 30-man provisional squad for the tournament.

Dananjaya 18 years of age has not played first class cricket or List A cricket. He was included on captains request in the 30 man preliminery squad for the ICC world T-20. In the SLPL so far he is the best young cricketer on show playing like a 25 year old and bowling with lot of confidence. Out of many World class spinners on show in the SLPL Dananjay is the most economical spinner of the tournament going at 4.81 for an over after 4 matches.

Ireland name their squad for the ICC world T-20

John Mooney misses the ICC World Twenty20 finals in Sri Lanka after suffering a serious finger injury which will rule him out of action for 3 months.
30 year old Mooney fractured his finger and also suffered tendon damage while playing for his club North County.
Ireland coach Phil Simmons agrees it’s a serious blow for both the player and Ireland as the squad for Sri Lanka was announced: “It’s disappointing for both John (Mooney) and the team. He’s suffered two finger injuries and this latest one won’t heal in time for the start of the tournament. He’s been a major part of the team for the last 3 or 4 years and it’s disappointing we have to go without him.

Bangladesh name their squad for the world T-20

Farhad Reza pace bowling allrounder, is the only change in an otherwise settled 15-member Bangladesh squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka. Reza replaced Nazmul Hossain in the team that will also be touring Trinidad and Tobago in early September for a four-nation tournament, though they will play under the name of Bangladesh Cricket Board XI.

New Zealand name 15 man Squad for the World T-20

The fast bowler Adam Milne has been named in New Zealand's squad for the ICC World Twenty20, 18 months after he last played for his country. Daniel Vettori has also been included after being ruled out of the upcoming Test series in India due to a groin problem, and he will have the chance to test his injury early next month with the same squad to play two T20s in India on September 8 and 11.
