Kushal Janith Perera included in Sri Lanka ODI and T20 squad

Sri Lanka today named their 16-man ODI and T20 squad for the series against Australia starting later this month. The uncapped wicket-keeper/batsman Kushal Perera, who has earned a reputation for clearing the ropes with ease, has been included in the squad, while Kumar Sangakkara will miss the entire series due to an injury.

Four spinners have been picked, including the two unorthodox mystery spinners — Ajantha Mendis and Akila Dananjaya. Lasith Malinga will return to lead Sri Lanka's pace attack, which consists of the currently injured duo Eranga and Kulasekara, as well as Suranga Lakmal who is making a comeback from injury.

The first of five ODIs stars on January 11 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Squad: Mahela Jayawardene (C), Angelo Mathews (VC), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Kushal Janith Perera, Jeevan Mendis, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajantha Mendis, Lasith Malinga, Akila Dananjaya, Suranga Lakmal, Rangana Herath, Shaminda Eranga.
