It is now time for some tough decision making - Sri Lanka Sport Minister

After the team’s 0-3 humiliating loss to Australia, Sri Lanka sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage today said that some tough decisions should be taken.

“No need for post-mortems. It is now time for some tough decision making,” Aluthgamage told PTI after Sri Lanka’s five-wicket loss to Australia in the final Test at Sydney.

Aluthgamage said the first step he intends is to expand the three-member selection panel and make it a selection committee of five or more.

He was also critical of players who he said want to play in all three formats of the game.

“We also must think like Australia and other countries who have different captains for different forms,” Aluthgamage said while suggesting three different teams playing different formats.

Mahela Jayawardene had already announced his decision to quit as the captain. - PTI
