Dhoni named as the world highest earning cricketer by Forbes Magazine

Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni topped the list of the world’s highest earning cricketers compiled by Forbes, the American business magazine. He is followed by Sachin Tendulkar.

The list of top ten cricketers includes six Indians and four Australians.With earnings of $26.5 million Dhoni features at the top of the list. Out of this, $23million comes from appearing in television commercials, while the rest $3.5 million is from playing cricket.
Dhoni’s $23 million is also the highest among cricketers’ earnings from commercials.
Tendulkar stands second at $18.6 million, out of which $16.5 million comes from advertisements, while the rest is from playing cricket.
Other cricketers in the Forbes’ list are Indians Gautam Gambhir ($7.3 million), Virat Kohli ($7.1 million), and Virender Sehwag ($6.9million), Australians Shane Watson ($5.9 million), Michael Clarke ($4.9million), Brett Lee ($4.8 million) and Ricky Ponting ($4.1million). The tenth man in the list is India’s Yusuf Pathan ($3.7 million).
