Kapugedara's Selection is a Surprise - Sanath Jayasuriya

Former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya has criticised the selection of middle order batsman Chamara Kapugedara for the ongoing ODI series against India.
Kapugedara, (25), after representing the country in 91 ODIs, has managed just eight half-centuries and was a surprise selection in the ODI squad.

Sri Lanka’s ODI squad, including Kapugedara, was announced two days after the batsman had scored consecutive ducks for Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Harare, where Sri Lanka’s second string team was playing a tri-nation tournament, involving the hosts and South Africa ’.
Kapugedara managed just 45 runs in four games in that series and is yet to play a game in the current ODI series against India.
"I am not against any player, but someone like (Chamara) Kapugedera has been given many chances, but he has not proved himself and yet he keeps getting chances. Due to that fact, I am very disappointed with the selectors," Jayasuriya said, expressing his disappointment. "There are players who have been performing, and they are not being given a chance. The selectors have to be responsible; they should pick the right players."
