Brett Lee to retire from International Cricket

Brett Lee is expected to announce his retirement from international cricket today. Cricket Australia has confirmed that Lee will hold a press conference at the SCG at 1pm to discuss his playing future, and it remains to be seen whether he will play on in domestic Twenty20 tournaments.

Lee declined a Cricket New South Wales state contract last month, declaring his intention to win an upgrade to a Cricket Australia deal by playing enough ODIs and Twenty20s to qualify. However, his latest injury setback, a calf problem that forced him home from the one-day tour of England, is believed to have led Lee to reassess his future.
