Half-centuries from James Cameron and Phil Hughes helped Worcestershire to a 14-run FL t20 win against Northants. Cameron (57) and Hughes (52) held the Worcestershire innings together, while no other batsman scored more than 14 as the visitors made 142-5 off 20 overs.while Chaminda Vass once again bowled superbly with figures of 4 overs 2 for 15 for Northants.
Northants remain without a victory in this year's T20 competition and their hopes of advancing already look bleak.
Worcestershire had started badly as openers Vikram Solanki (8) and Moeen Ali (14) were dismissed early on to leave their side on 33-2 after 7.1 overs.
However, Cameron and Hughes put on 101 for the third wicket with Cameron hitting two sixes in his 38-ball innings.Vass who promoted to opening the batting didnt performed well as he was bowled for run a ball 9.
Chaminda Vaas (9), Alex Wakely (1), Rob White (4) and James Middlebrook (4) all struggled for Northants and Cameron White's entertaining innings, which included four sixes, proved to be too little, too late.
The victory keeps Worcestershire third in the Midlands/Wales/West Group but brings them to within three points of leaders Somerset
