Last Man Standing Mathews wins thriller for Sri Lanka

The hosts reached their 248-run target with two balls to spare in a thrilling finish to the day-night match.
Angelo Mathews was the match-winner for Sri Lanka with an unbeaten innings of 80 and he sealed the win with a six and a four off Mohammad Sami in the final over, from which 15 had been required for victory.

Mathews had arrived at the crease with the home side on 97-4 and his 76-ball knock was timed to perfection, with Lahiru Thirimanne (11), Jeevan Mendis (19) and Nuwan Kulasekara (10no) giving him good late assistance after the departure of Dinesh Chandimal for 54.But story could have been so much different if Mathews couldnt won the match for Sri Lanka as he involved with 2 run outs of Perera and Thirimanne where he was responsible for both of them. But as always Mathews stayed calm and targetted the pakistani week link Sami, who got the worst figures for Pakistani bowler in Sri Lanka.
Sohail Tanvir was the pick of the Pakistan attack with 3-42 but Sami went for 75 runs from his 9.4 overs.
Imran Farhat (56) and Umar Akmal (55no) earlier scored half-centuries for Pakistan, while leg-spinner Mendis (2-30) and paceman Kulasekara (2-53) each claimed two wickets for Sri Lanka.
