ESPN Star Sports, Supersport , Eurosport and others to bring CLT20 to the world


The Champions League, 2012 will be telecast around the world by the leading broadcasters of various regions.
The tournament, which will take place in South Africa from October 9 to 28, can be viewed by cricket lovers across the globe in 203 territories, including Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and the USA.
The following is the list of broadcasters who will bring the biggest Twenty20 cricket league to the world.

De Villiers replace De Lange in Champions League


Pace bowler CJ de Villiers has replaced injured teammate Marchant de Lange in the Titans squad for the T20 Champions League tournament in South Africa next month.

The Champions League T20 Technical Committee confirmed the change on Friday.

They also announced that David Balcombe had replaced Danny Biggs in Hampshire's squad for the tournament. Biggs is unavailable for personal reasons.

Champions League T20 2012 groups are finalized


Uva Next have become the sixth and final team to make the qualifying stage of CLT20 2012. Uva Next beat the Nagenahira Nagas on the Duckworth/Lewis method in the rain-curtailed final of the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier.
Uva Next join Trinidad and Tobago and Yorkshire in Pool 2, while Pool 1 consists of Hampshire, Sialkot Stallions and Auckland Aces. The qualifying stage of CLT20 2012 will be played between October 9 and 11, with the finalists of the qualifying tournament proceeding to the Group Stage.

Hampshire eye Afridi for Champions League Twenty20

Hampshire hope to sign Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi for the Champions League Twenty20 even though he did not appear for them during the Friends Life T20.

The rules of the Champions League state that a player must be registered in the qualifying period. The rules do not insist that the player has actually appeared in a game. Afridi was due to appear for Hampshire this season, but was unable to play due to issues in obtaining a visa. The club have confirmed that he was satisfactorily registered in order to sign him for the Champions League.

Mumbai and Chennai in same group for the Champions League T-20


Current champions Mumbai Indians, who were given direct entry to the group stage, have been placed with IPL runners-up Chennai Super Kings, Sydney Sixers and Highveld Lions in Group B for the Champions League T20 in South Africa, which starts on October 13. IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders, South African T20 champions Titans, Australia's Perth Scorchers and Delhi Daredevils are in the other group.
