ICC World T-20 Teams Preview - New Zeland

New Zeland a team which always punch about their weight in global tournaments come to the ICC world T-20 with run of very poor performances in all 3 formats througout the year. They are led by Ross Taylor who is a big match player who could be the star attraction fo the team along with Brendon McCullam.
New Zeland Team is in group D along with Bangladesh and Pakistan. Their group matches will be played at Pallekale Stadium where pitches are alike New Zeland tend to help seamers. New Zeland has a decent batting line up with Brendon McCullam Ros Taylor and Martin Guptill.
New Zeland will likely to open the innings with fair of Martin Guptill and Rob Nichol but Rob Nichol batting is still to be proven in International stage. They will hope Martin Guptil could find his feet at the beginnig of the tournment. New Zeland struglle with opening partnership in past year putting lot of pressure on their middle order. It is more sensible if they move up the McCullam to open the Batting and letting him play his natural game. Brendon McCullam will likely to come at no.3 atleast in the beginning of the tournament. If he can get some big scores New Zeland will have decent scores on the board. Ross Taylor will bat at no.4 and he has nack of rissing to the occasion where he could bat out the oppossition from the game. He will face Pakistan in pallekale once again which will remind him of his wonderful century against the same oppossiton in the last years world cup. New Zeland will expect big things from him this time around as well. He will be followed at no.5 by Kane Willimson who is a solid player with good technique. His performance in test and one dayers is the only plus for the Kiwis in last year or so. His style of batting wouldn't expect to win many games in T-20 but his solidity will stablize their middle order and he will be handy in crisises. James Franklin will nat at no 6 as a specialist batsman but his contribution for the team yet to be desired. His experience playing all over the world will help Kiwis in diffivult situations and he will be required bowl some overs specially in Matches played at pallekale. New Zeland will likely to pick BJ Waltings as their Kepper and he would be slotted at no.7 but Performance of Oram in recent times may put him down another place in the batting order. It is Interesting whether McCullam would Keep wicckets or not in the tournament as it will provide more option to Kiwis.Jcob Orams Batting in the SLPL will be heartning for the Kiwis as he showed glimpses of his past.
In the Bowling New Zeland lokk bit week but the conditions will have a big say in the effectiveness of the bowling. Their major weakness in bowling will be the depth bowling as none of their fast bowlers shows the ability to bowl at the depth.New Zeland would likely to pick Mills, Southee and Oram as their quicks and Vettori as their spinner. Vettori will be expected to play a vital role in the team as the leading spinner.Part time bowling of Frankilin Nichol and Willimson will be given the job of completing the 5the bowlers quota of 4 overs. If McCullam take the gloves behind the wicket Kiwis will able to play extra bowler depending on condition and that will offer a chance to either Nathan McCullam or Young Faceman Adam Milne. New Zeland will find they requires extra cover in their bowling department as the tournament goes on.
New Zeland Could have some hickups in the beginning of the tournament as they need to over come Bangladesh in their group.

Prediction: They will be happy if they could qualify for the Semi Finals. Their chance of qulifying for the Semi Finals will depend on the performances of Jacob Oram and Ross Taylor.

Player to Watch : Jacob Oram

Chance to win The Title : 60%
