ICC World T-20 Teams Preview - Bangladesh

Bangladesh team which is always regarded as underdogs will come to the tournament with genuine belief that they could go to the super eights. They are grouped with Pakistan and New Zealand and they will fancy their chances winning against under performing Kiwis.
Bangladesh has picked a team mixed with experience and youth for the tournament. Now they possesed the best batting line up in their history with Shakib, Tamim and Mushfiqure in their prime and with the assistence of emerging talent Nassir Hussain.
They will open the innings with Tamim Iqbal who is having a wonderful SLPL for Waymba United. Tamim is in his prime form and shown he can be devastating as a opener in T-20s. He will be parnered by Ashraful who is the best talent Bangladesh produce but withput consistency. If Ashraful able to play freely and express him self he can win games in his own as he shown some times like he did against Australia in a One dayer. Ability of those two players to attack both spin and fast bowling will be hedeache for the opponents. In Europe tour Bangladesh they sent Shakib at no.3 and he is expected to do the same in the tournament. He is the most Consistent performer Bangladesh has and he has the ability to get quick runs consistently. He is a player who could walk in to any side in world cricket at the moment and expects to fire if Bangladesh to have a chance of qualifying. At no.4 will be their Captain Mushfiq who is a decent performer but not threatning as the top 3. Mushfiq will be batting one position higher than he should as a result of lack of depth in the side.He had couple of good knocks in SLPL but at no.4 quock fire 40s not enough to win matches but hee could play a good supporting role if one of top 3 stay in the middle. At no 5 Mahamudulla will likely to bat and he need to perform better than the past if bangladesh to become a strong force. No.6 would be Nassir Hussain who is a promising young crickter with lot of ability and class about him.His batting would give Bangladesh more stability and depth to the team.Ziaur Rahaman fast bowling all-rounder will get a chance to play in the team as their group matches are to be played at seemer friendly Pallekale Stadium.
Bangladesh over reliance on spin and lack of fast bowlers could haunt them as pitches in Pallekale is simillar to New Zealand and England. Mahrafe Mortaza will spearhead the bowling unit and will have the support of Shakib and Razzak or Sunny. Ellias Sunny who had a brilliant tour of europe may get the chance ahead of Razzak in the team.Seaming Condition will may give an opportunity to the Shafiul Islam who is a decent swing bowler ahead of Abul Hasan. They will really mis a good fast bowler in the group stages if we go by the pitches on show in SLPL at the venue.

Prediction : Unlikely to cause any major upsets best chance is to qualify for the Super Eights ahead of New Zealand. If they have some luck they could have a outside chance to qualify for the Semi Finals. If they qualify fot the super eight they will face England, West Indies and Sri Lanka. They have a chance to upset Englad and West Indies. They will be happy if they qualify to super eights.

Player to Watch : Shakib Al Hassan

Chance to Win the Title: 5%
