Elias Sunny to opt out of SLPL

Elias Sunny, the Bangladesh left-arm spinner, is likely to miss the early stage of the maiden Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) Twenty20 which is scheduled to begin on August 11.

Sunny, who has been in brilliant form during the Ireland tour, was earlier included in the Nagenahira’s 24-man squad but the franchise on Thursday informed him that he could not make it to the 18-man squad. After that, Sunny decided not to take part in the tournament.
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed earlier that the Uthura Rudras vice Captain Shakib Al Hasan will miss the Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) following an injury to his left knee.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) denied his permission and the allrounder will instead be given time to recover ahead of September's World Cup Twenty20.
