Ashraful to play in SLPL

Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Ashraful will play for Ruhuna Royals in the ongoing Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL).
The right-hander, who was scheduled to leave England yesterday for Colombo, became the fifth Bangladeshi player to take part in the T20 competition in Sri Lanka after Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Tamim Iqbal and Nasir Hossain.

Meanwhile, the Tigers will be back to business tomorrow after the Eid holidays. The BCB had earlier announced the 15-member squad for the ICC World Twenty20 to be held in Sri Lanka from September 18 and the squad will take part in the T20 tournament in Trinidad & Tobago under the banner of BCB XI.
The camp will end on August 29 and the Bangladesh team will leave Dhaka on August 31 for Trinidad.
“You know the final of the SLPL will be held on August 31, so if any Bangladeshi player plays in the final he will join the team directly in Dubai on September 1,” informed BCB's cricket operations committee manager Sabbir Khan.
After playing the T20 tournament in Trinidad &
Tobago, the Bangladesh team is scheduled to reach Colombo on September 12.
Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches -- against Zimbabwe on September 15 at the Colts Cricket ground in Colombo and against Ireland on September 17 at the Moors Cricket ground in Colombo -- in Sri Lanka before the tournament proper.
