Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell test positive for drugs

Pune Warriors' players Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell have tested positive for taking drugs at a rave party at the Oakwood Premier hotel near Juhu beach on May 20. Parnell and Indian leg-spinner Sharma were among the 92 people who were rounded after police busted a rave party.

Rahul is currently in Sri Lanka for the ODI series.

BCCI president N Srinivasan said they need to study the reports first. "I don't know why everyone is in a mood to execute Rahul Sharma without even going into the details. The BCCI will first procure each and every bit of relevant information and then study them before deciding on the course of action," he added.

Earlier in June, as many as 44 persons detained from the same party, had tested positive. Further details are awaited.

Sharma had maintained that he is clean and also said that he would give up cricket if he tests positive. "I know I am innocent, if the reports (of blood tests) are positive, I will leave cricket," Sharma said earlier.

The leg-spinner had earlier refuted the allegation that he was present at a rave party at a Mumbai hotel, claiming that he had gone there to attend a birthday celebration.

Those who know me, including my team-mates, know that I have never touched champagne after victories. It's a big thing," Sharma said.

South African cricketer Wayne Parnell said both Sharma and he were 'at the wrong place at the wrong time'.
