Bangladesh 'A' Completed Indian tour in a low after losing the final match
The Bangladesh A team completed their tour of India with a massive 155-run defeat to Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) XI on the final day of their last four-day encounter of the Safi Darashah Invitational Tournament in Bangalore yesterday.
Chasing a daunting target of 355 runs to win, the second string Bangladesh side were bundled out for 199 runs after resuming the day at 17 without loss to suffer their second defeat in the tournament after sharing the spoils in the first game.
Some resistance came from number five batsman Naeem Islam but a 110-ball 88 was not good enough to avert defeat. Opening batsman Imrul Kayes was the second-highest scorer with a 90-ball 45.
Once again Gowtham, who took six wickets for 74 runs in the first innings, tore apart Bangladesh A's second innings, picking up six wickets for 49 runs.
It was a disappointing tour for the Bangladesh A team, mainly because of their poor batting all through the tournament while the punishment meted out to captain Shahriar Nafees, who was sent back to home just before the third and final match on disciplinary grounds, added insult to injury.
