Mahela Concern over the Leadership in Future

For the question raised regarding Mahela and him leading the Sri Lankan team for the 2015 world cup at recent press conference  he replied “I don’t have huge hopes for future. Even though we play cricket so well, one small mistake can change everything. That is the situation of the country right now. I will like to talk about the next two three months but about far ahead than that, will have to be talked with the relevant parties and then come to a decision about leading the team will next world cup”.
And the fact he tried to impose was that the Sri Lanka right now is a place where anything can change in few seconds and thus he himself don’t know anything or a statement to give regarding it at this moment.

And about the future plans for the next 2-3 months he said that the entire team is trying to work and play according to a plan as a team and the youngsters playing really well is a glimpse of a positive hope that and they will take a lot of responsibility and further mentioned that the entire team support is the key aspect for us right now.

Recently Sri Lanka opener T M Dilshan said he thinks Mahela should lead the team till 2015 World Cup as he cant see any youngsters ready to take the job now.Earlier in the year Mahela said he took captaincy for year is also shown interest in carrying on the captaincy. But at age 35 Mahela would be doubtful stater for 2015 world cup as he would be 38 then and it is more realistic that Sri Lanka would look for youngster for 2015 world cup.

Angelo Mathews who is likely candidate for the captaincy as he is Mahelas Deputy and he will be 28 when world cup begins in 2015.Lot of Critics who are against Mathews as he opted to bowl in IPL without bowling in the test against England is opposing the idea of giving captaincy to him.But player who likes challenges Mathews would be more than happy to take this challenge as well.So senior players should think of giving him the captaincy in the next year and playing under him to prepare for the next world cup.
