According to reports West Indian star batsman Chris Gayle is going to get $ 100,000 for his participation in SLPL making him the highest paid player in SLPL by far.Next Highest paid foreign player is Sahid Afridi with $ 50,000.All the Sri Lankan Icon Players to be paid $ 50,000 as well.

In the Yesterdays players draft for  international players in SLPL has concluded with 56 foreign players drafting to franchises.The players from pakistan and australia dominated the list.

Much anticipated player draft for the SLPL franchises will be held today.The Players will be drafted into seven teams when the franchises meet at 5.00 pm. at Taj Samudra Hotel Toady.

According to newest reports West Indies opener Chris Gayle and Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi,  have been named the two international icon players in the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League that begins August 10.

According to sources close to SLC announce that players who are participating in SLPL will be contracted for 3 years and they will be divided in to 3 categories.
