Mathews appointed as the T-20 Captain
All-rounder, Angelo Mathews was appointed as captain of Sri Lanka’s Twenty20 team for one year. Mathews will lead Sri Lanka from the upcoming New Zealand tour, Chairman of Selectors Asantha de Mel said, on Wednesday.
According few other reliable sources, rising star Dinesh Chandimal has been appointed as Mathew's deputy but his appointment was not confirmed yet.
The team selected for one off T20 against New Zealand, has been sent to the minister of sports and his approval is due at any given time.
Mathews has led Sri Lanka in a T20 international against Pakistan at Sooriyawewa during last July and he was deputizing to Mahela Jayawardene during the T20 World Cup.
Dinesh Chandimal was in the World T20 squad but didn't play a match.
