1. Mitchell Starc
Young Australian Seamer Starc bowled his heart out throughout the Series in testing heat in the Middle East. He deservedly awarded as the Man of the Series. His ability to swing and seam the bowl in unhelpful pitches was astonishing performance in itself.
In 3 Matches he had picked up 9 wickets at an average of 15.11 with economy of 4.88. He was the second highest wicket taker in the tournament. He avoid the gap of Australian attack left by the lack of spinning options. He made the Australian attack threatening after the poor England tour where their attack seemed out of sorts.
2. Saeed Ajmal
He was the best spinner on show and consistently troubled the Australian batsman. It was hard to understand why the Pakistan team used him as a defensive option rather than attacking option. He still was the highest wicket taker of the tournament with 10 wickets from the 3 matches at an average of 9.90. He was the most economical bowler in the series out of the bowlers bowled more than 10 overs with economy rate of 3.41. It would be surely disappointing to him that his good work didn’t result in a series victory for the Pakistan.
3. Glenn Maxwell
Player with so much potential given the Australians lot of hope about their future by the performance in this tour. Maxwell playing in his first international tour definitely surprise the selectors who picked him. He has performed well in Friends Life t-20 in England but not expected to become the player to change fortune of the Australians in this tour. Maxwell scored 122 runs in 3 matches with an average of 61.00 and at a strike rate of 118.44. He came to bat in difficult situations and score runs at a time if where pressure is really on him. If he failed to perform in the 2 matches Australians won Pakistan could have easily won the series. He showed great character and determination. He scored runs against spinners which will give him lot of confidence as other experienced batsman in the side failed cope with the Spinners.Only down side of the tournament is his bowling where he struggle to put pressure on Pakistan Batsman.
