Misbah will be TV expert during ICC World T20

Having been overlooked for the forthcoming World T20 Championship in Sri Lanka, Pakistan’s Test and ODI skipper Misbah-ul-Haq will now feature in the panel of television experts lined up by the broadcasters of the marquee tournament.
The 38-year-old middle order batsman confirmed on Sunday that he had the NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Pakistan Cricket Board to work as television expert during the mega event and would be soon heading to Sri Lanka.

“It is going to be a new experience for me to work on television,” said the senior middle order batsman, who has been part of national T20 squad until May this year. “I got a good offer and also wanted to be part of the tournament so I accepted it," he went on to add.
Misbah, who was appointed as the limited-overs skipper of Pakistan in May 2011, was not only snubbed as the national T20 skipper but was also dropped from the team ahead of Sri Lanka tour in May this year. Prolific all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez replaced him as captain.
Despite insisting his body is fit enough to play in all the three forms of game, Misbah was overlooked by the selectors for the T20 World Cup as well.
He is not the only current international player who has accepted the assignment as England’s veteran batsman Kevin Pietersen will also be part of the panel of television experts. Misbah’s teammate and the T20 World Cup-winning captain, Younis Khan is also working as an expert on state sports channel, PTV Sports.
Pakistan cricket team has drawn into the Group D alongside unpredictable Bangladesh and formidable New Zealand. Absence of a minnow side in the group makes it the toughest of all the four groups, and many have termed it as the “death group”.
Misbah, however, is confident his compatriots will proceed into the Super Eight stage, if they learn from their mistakes made against Australia recently.
"The players are capable of doing well but they need to learn from their mistakes made in the Australia series," said the right-hander, adding Pakistan was a multi-talented side capable of beating any team on its day.
