Hindustan Times interview with young Indian actor regarding 65th Independent day. Varun Dhawan, 23, who Bollywood debut of "Student of the Year" believes that a political leader needs to be calm and be able to stand up to bullies. He thinks MS Dhoni would be perfect for the job. His short Interview with Hindustan Times as follows
As a youngster, what change would you like to see in India?
You heard about the Andheri murder case about that guy Reuben? He was a friend. I was shooting in Dehradun when I heard the news and it shook me up. Women’s safety is a grave matter, and we need to stand up for it.
Who would you like to see as the leader of our country, and what qualities should he possess?
I’d like to see someone like MS Dhoni. He is calm, has the right degree of aggression and doesn’t get bullied. And he’s from a small town. I feel that’s where he gets these qualities.
If you were to become the PM for a day, what would you do?
I’ll talk about something that’s close to me, about all these parties being busted in the city. Law and order is necessary, but not like this. Why has the age limit been changed to 25? I want to find out what has happened to Mumbai. There’s so much policing here. Why is there so much surveillance?
Do you think there is any way of eradicating corruption in India?
There’s corruption everywhere. People should begin with following rules, and not encourage bribery.
