Cricket must be an Olympic Sport - Yohan Blake
Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake, who shone in London Olympics 2012 with two silver medals, on Friday expressed his interest of cricket.
“I think I can bowl out Sachin, which is my aim in life,” Blake revealed.
Blake, who is considered as the world's second fastest man next to compatriat Usain Bolt, rates cricket as his first love ahead of athletics.
"Cricket is higher than track and field for me,” Blake said after coming second in 200 metres race at the 2012 London Olympics.
“I have been watching cricket since I was a small kid and I have grown up to love the sport. I am better at cricket than running,” he added.
Blake also believes that he is better in cricket than his friend and foe Bolt.
“In fact I am better than Bolt and in cricket I can definitely beat him,” Bolt was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.
Blake, who played cricket for Kingston Cricket Club before taking up athletics, strongly advocates believes the inclusion of cricket in Olympics.
“Cricket must be an Olympic sport because it can be entertaining like we have seen in IPL,” Blake said.
A few days ago, Blake expressed that his desire to play in the Indian Premier League.
