Chris Gayle's Participation in SLPL in doubt
West Indian Star batsman Chris Gayle’s participation in the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League, beginning on August 11, is in doubt after he sustained a groin injury during the West Indies’ second Test win over New Zealand in Kingston.
Chris Gayle, who was named the icon player of the Uva Next franchise, is to undergo a fitness test on Tuesday, August 7, which will decide whether he will be available to play for his franchise in SLPL.
Should Gayle be ruled out, it will be a big blow to SLPL as He will be the 3rd big name to be ruled out of the SLPL with in a week.Kumar Sangakkara and Shakib Al Hasan, have been forced to pull out late last week through injuries.
