Andrew Strauss set to quit England captaincy

England captain in Test cricket, Andrew Strauss, is set to quit from the top job after his side suffered a 0-2 loss against South Africa and lost their top spot in ICC Test rankings, according to reports.
The English media on Tuesday speculated that not only Strauss can resign as England captain, but also quit international cricket.
The Mail said in its report that Strauss has recently returned from a family holiday in Spain, and it is reckoned that the 35-year-old has decided to hang up his boots.

Strauss, 35, was set to play for county side Middlesex against Worcestershire following the Test series loss to South Africa but withdrew from the team on the morning of the match starting Tuesday. 
The Telegraph reported that England's ODI captain, Alastair Cook, is the next man in line for the top job and his appointement as skipper in Test cricket is something which many in England cricket want.
Meanwhile, Strauss's future and that of international exile Kevin Pietersen could both become clearer when the England and Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) managing director gives a press conference at Lord's on Wednesday.
And a couple of hours after the England one-day side suffered an 80-run thrashing by the Proteas in Southampton later Tuesday, the ECB announced that managing director Hugh Morris would be holding a press conference at Lord's at noon (1100 GMT).
