West Indian Star batsman Chris Gayle’s participation in the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League, beginning on August 11, is in doubt after he sustained a groin injury during the West Indies’ second Test win over New Zealand in Kingston. Chris Gayle, who was named the icon player of the Uva Next franchise, is to undergo a fitness test on Tuesday, August 7, which will decide whether he will be available to play for his franchise in SLPL. Should Gayle be ruled out, it will be a big blow to SLPL as He will be the 3rd big name to be ruled out of the SLPL with in a week.Kumar Sangakkara and Shakib Al Hasan, have been forced to pull out late last week through injuries.
